Chalet bungalow eaves insulating

My chalet bungalow has the 4 eaves so the loft walls are single skin block work with only thin polystyrene sheets on the underside of the roof. I'm considering using 50mm insulating board against the block work and between the roof joists but wanted views and advice before starting to pay out for supplies. Any help appreciated

Hi alberttrotter1,
If you have triangular eaves spaces formed by the floor, loft walls and roof and they are storage rather than living space, then concentrate on insulating the loft walls and perhaps the floor.

Stoneyboy, thanks for the reply. Due to the hatch size, would I be able to do the vertical walls with just insulating roll rather than boards and if so would I need to Batton out to create ventilation?? Regards

Hi alberttrotter1,
Better to use boards - cut them to fit through the loft hatch and then reform them. Stick them in place with the sticky foam stuff and fill any gaps with expanding foam. Regards S
