Loft insulation

I have recently moved home and currently my loft is insulated with 4 inches of fibreglass roll.
Is it worth me getting some more laid?

I have gas fired central heating and do not know how much difference it will make to my gas bills, I think it would take many years to re coup the costs of getting more insulation laid.

Hi laura

The current recommended depth for loft insulation is 275mm

So I would say yes, Renew it as yours is well under half of that,
At the moment the goverment is offering assistance in the form of insulation grants so it is a good time to be thinking about it.
