Garage wall blockwork, single/double thickness?

I am looking at replacing a garage at a new property.
I have looked at Prefabs and they are ok but a bit restrictve.
So I am looking at having a blockwork structure.
What's the cheapest way to do this, can 100mm width blocks be used single width up to approx 2m or would it need to be double thickness?
what depth of foundations would be required.
and what is the avarage cost m2 for blockwork ( labour/materials ) I am in Cumbria.
