Painting Patchup in Cold Wet Weather

Hi
We had new windows fitted 2 weeks ago. During fitting they broke off some render above and below one of the windows.
They patched it up with cement and advised us to paint it as soon as possible. The only problem is, since it was done it has either been raining or I have been at work.
So I was going to do it today as it is not supposed to rain but it rained last night so it’s still wet.
I’m a bit worried about waiting any longer but also don’t want to paint it now and lock the water in. Has anyone got any advice on the best way to play this?
Thanks
Carl
