painting new plaster

by paulcooke » Tue May 06, 2008 11:06 am

help i have just painted my newly skimmed plasterboard walls but unfortunately i used undercoat rather than the emulsion i was going to use (the tins looked exactly the same). the undercoat is oil based and i was wondering what problems if any i would have when painting with an emulsion also i heard that plaster needs to breath thats why emulsion is used.

any advice would be welcome

many thanks

No problem. Just emulsion straight over it. I use spirit based undercoat for particularly troublesome stains prior to emulsioning.

Cheers
