wall plaster skimming & painting

Hi there... I moved into a 1930's flat last year & have just had builders assessment re: plaster skimming of walls in lounge & hallway. I've stripped off the lining paper & I've been told that I won't need to apply new lining paper as the walls will look superb once they've been done! :D

So, I'm just wondering if there's anything I need to be aware of when I paint the walls afterwards... do I need to prepare them with anything after they've been skimmed? Is there a special paint I ought to use? (I want to use eco paint) & are there any hazards I need to be ware of...?

I'm a 30 something female new to DIY so any advice greatly appreciated!

Hi Helly,
There are a few things you would need to follow and to take in to consideration.
If you go on to the projects pages on this website look under "Painting new plaster" it will explain it a little better than I.
Best of luck
