Hi. Can anyone help? I have been a complete numpty this weekend and plasterboarded a ceiling with the wrong side facing down for skimmimg!!!! It's Gypsum plasterboard and it plainly says on the side that I have showing "plaster other side only".
The last time I plasterboarded was years ago and I'm sure the plasterers always asked for grey side to skim on???
Could I pva it (or something) and then get it skimmed?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Agii,
back in the day, it used to be the norm to have grey side facing out for plastering and white side out for dry-lining taped joints or artex. The trade has now decided to have white skin outside regardless of application on to it.
I don't think it will cause any problems just skimming over as normal, you don't normally PVA plasterboards but PVA plaster for re-skim.

ive always plastered the white side of he boards,ive worked on hundreds of houses on site and they have always been boarded white side facing,think the grey side has a retarder in it to keep the plaster wetter for longer job takes longer then,never had any probs skimming the white side also drys quicker so less hanging around.... :)
