HI
I have just had aqua panels fitted in a new shower area , which were then skimmed with plaster . I have just noticed that the skim has come away from the aqua panels why is this ? and what should I have done? ,
And seeing that the skim is quite thick in places does this mean that the hole lot has to come down?

Aquapanel is designed to be tiled onto not to be skimmed.

Aquapanel dor wet (ie shower areas), plasterboard everywhere else. Thats why aquapanel is the same thickness as 12.5mm plasterboard.

There is no need to skim plasterboard before tiling if you are tiling the whole wall. If anything skimming it reduces your options for weight of tiles + addy + grout. If you are part tiling then yes skim the plasterboard and for the wet area you can tank the skimmed plasterboard.

I think you should redo it.

Cheers
