DOT AND DAB EXTERNAL BRICK WALL THAT IS NOW PARTY WALL

I WANT TO DOT & DAB AN OLD EXTERNAL BRICK FACE WALL THAT IS NOW AN INTERNAL BETWEEN HOUSES DO I NEED TO COVER WITH PVA?
THE EXTERNAL WALL IS NOW A PARTY WALL BETWEEN TWO HOUSES AS HAVE PUT ANOTHER HOUSE ON THE SIDE. I WANT TO DOT AND DAB THIS WALL HOWEVER HAVE NOT DONE THIS TO EXTERNAL BRICK BEFORE DO I NEED TO COVER WITH PVA OR SIMILAR BEFORE DABBING?

RICKY FAIRES,
Generally no need for PVA - adjust the workability of the adhesive to suit the porosity of the wall.

is the wall painted ,if so you will need to PVA first.if they are dusty bricks ie stocks or soft reds PVA.
