rendering a big area

when rendering a big gable end for instance wats the best way to give your self time to float up and sponge over b4 the cement gos off and you get a horrible finish,i no you can wet the wall firs to give you more time but any other suggestions.

Only experience Josh. A plasterer can render a complete gable in one go whereas a DIYer can take a month. There is nothing you can use to slow the process down without damaging the integrity of the render.

when we render big areas ,50m plus , we put two coats on the wall , first coat is a scrath coat with a waterproofer mixed in the gauging water this will allow time to work with the second coat , float coat , but as said timing only comes with experience

does any one use sbr as a admixture does it help as a retarder aswell as a waterprofer.does it make a the mix nice to use like other admixtures,does anyone else use a admixture called optimix.wat other admixes do people use
