dryling abroad

Hello all
i want to start dryling a place abroad (southern Italy) an wondered if dab n dot/same materials etc we use here are ok in a hotter climate?
i would be boarding onto insulated walls onto a 'terracotta' brick,
walls are very straight and no more than 1/4" out over 2m
if anyone has experience/ advice it would be a great help
quotes from locals are horrendous if not laughable, they don't seem to want to know about plasterboard, wonder why...........?
and i know it's available!
many thanks
