An angle bead will give you a better and stronger angle but it is ok to just plaster an angle we do it a lot on splayed angles , just keep the plaster on the angle wet , by runnig your brush up it ,and dont over trowel it once it has set , running a damp sponge over it can also help if done carefully

I personally think its nessessary to use angle beads, it gives a nice straight edge finish to skim up to, gives a tough edge to the reveals and when its painted you cant see it metal. why wouldnt you use them !?

Hi mate if you want my advice i wouldn't even think of skimming an external angle without a bead if it's ninety degrees then you need a thin coat angle bead if it's a splayed angle you need a 3mm stop bead. If your seeing the beads through your work the best advice i can give is to run your hand up either side of the bead once you've put it in place to make sure none of the bead is proud of the wall if it is then you should take a little time to straighten it up. Good beading will make or break the job your doing..

Hope this helps mate
