what is float and set
is this undercoat plaster then skimon top
what is the correct way to apply undercoat ie bonding or hardwall to breezeblock to make sure it is level and even across the wall
any advice would be great

Float and Set, is the method used for applying a background plaster onto bricks or stone.
Best way to apply backing plaster is to lath wall out vertically, in to equal areas then apply browning/bonding darby it level, leave to go off, then remove timbers and fill in the gaps.

slaters lath will do the trick.

if you can get away with just using lath in vertical the corners then i usually just use thin strips of 9mm plasterboard adhered to the wall with a continuous bead of bonding behind. easy to level and set plumb, easy to rule off and has the advantage that they do not need to be removed afterwards.
