See our project on artex removal and plastering. Everything you need is in there. Bonding plaster is for use on non, or very poor, porous surfaces. Hardwall, or Browning plaster is the one to use on any surface which is porous. Dubbing out is not usually required on artex and two coats of finish is usually ample.

Been plastering for about 18 months only done 1 artex ceiling, I was able to cover with two coats of multi finish. Careful if the artex is old and decide to knock off the high spots, could contain asbestos (pre 70's?). Also I was told by an experienced plasterer not to use Hardwall, he reckoned it would fall.
