building a knee wall in metal stud

by vrainbow » Wed Mar 06, 2013 8:18 pm

I need to build a partition wall that runs perpendicular to a sloping ceiling - the equivalent of a knee wall in an attic. I would like to use metal stud but how do I get over the problem of the angle on the ceiling joists i.e. how do I fix the top rail so that it sits correctly to put the uprights in?

unsure of your description but the metal studding is u shaped, and the uprights fit inside the channel, the base and head starter channel is slightly bigger so the uprights fit, so if you screw the channel through the centre to the ceiling and fit the base then just cut the uprights to fit, then screw it together hope that makes sense
