K Rend Render - Is it More Waterproof Than Sand and Cement?

I have problems with dampness coming through an exterior cavity wall. We have established that the roof is fine, and have been told it is most likely a porous wall and the water is bridging the cavity.

I was looking at getting the wall rendered, however the plasterer mentioned using K-rend (as an alternative to sand and cement).

I have not been able to find much info on K-rend, so was trying to find out if it would be more waterproof then normal sand and cement, and worth the extra money?

Thanks

K rend offers you different finishes and has a silicone base so its waterproof, With standard sand and cement you add a waterproof chemical to it, you apply a base coat with waterproof added then a top coat of whatever finish.
K Rend offers you a wide range of finishes, and is more expensive but if its applied right it looks good and does the job well, and it has the BSI approved product kite stamp. If your having problems with water penetration its best to go with K rend
