Hi,

I need to fit/replace a small section of plasterboard and tiles in a bath/shower area. I got some plasterboard that I was told would be suitable for a wet area and have cut it roughly to shape ready to be fixed to the wall ;

My questions are ;

1.) Is it ok that there are small gaps at the top and sides of the new plasterboard? Do I need to seal these gaps with some kind of filler? My thinking was that when the tiles are laid over the top it will form a waterproof barrier so it wont matter that much, and also I can push the new plasterboard up a little bit more relative to how it is shown in the picture.

2.) Is it ok to fix the new plasterboard section to the wall using 12 x 5 CM long screws ?

Thankyou
