hi all , can anybody advice me , iam a little confused , iam about to repair a hole in my plasterboard which will be about 1 foot square when ive cut it back and replaced with a new board . but before i go any further i was told to use bonding/ browning first then skim over ( when dry ) with finish .
but to add to my confusion someone else told me to just skim over with finish .
who is right ? or do both methods work .

If the board is near level, should really be stepped back a little bit about 3mm or so, then just skim the board. Browning and bonding used for other apllications, normally straight on to brick and block work then you skim over!
