render tyrolean flicker

hi am wanting to render using a tyrolean flicker to achieve a rough finish and have an idea about how to do it but not sure if its the same as the smooth rendering with a trowel,and also its already got a bad coat of smooth painted render on the wall,this is what i want to cover, any HELP please thanks!!

tyrolean flicker as u call it can be hired and can be controlled to rought or fine but not smooth before you start try a test panel on a piece on ply or something flat keep on the move and keep ie even

Might not hold to painted surface over a period of time,rather idearly you need to flick onto a bare cement surface.But you could try painting (not pva ) SBR over they area then applying mix.
you need to apply 3 coats 1 from the front and 2 fron a left side at a 45 degree'angle and same from the right
