Assorted cracks in plaster - a problem or not?

My house has some cracking in plaster which has developed over the years since we last decorated (10years? ) and I'm getting concerned that it is structural. I can't see any evidence of any cracking on the external brick walls.
You can just about see it on the photos I've taken at

Some of it appears very geometric, almost like I'm looking at the shape of breeze blocks behind the plaster while the crack and plaster starting to come off what I'm assuming is an RSJ makes me think something is moving which shouldn't be.

Do I need a surveyor or is this just normal movement / due to the thermal expansion (geometric pattern is on a south facing wall).

Any opinions gratefully received.
Thanks,
Jeddy

Hi jeddy,
I think your over reacting, just looks like dry shrinkage crazing to me. How old is the plaster maybe it's time to knock it off and repair it! You can inspect the walls beneath when you knock off.
