Plastering newbie

by ols » Thu Oct 18, 2007 2:23 pm

I am taking on a plastering job at the weekend for the first time. Most of the advice that I have read says to use two coats of plaster - does this improve the finish?
Should I mix enough plaster do do both coats in one go or do each coat with a separate mix?

Thanks for any advice...

you need to do 2 coats of plaster as the first coat will hazel off (as we call it) then the second coat will hang around and will give u plenty of time to give it a good trowel finish as for the amount u mix depends on how big the job is keep every thing clean and only use clean water
