Hello, i've just had some walls damp proofed, replastered and skimmed a few days ago, but new radiators are about to be put on those walls, i don't want messy patches behind the radiators so can I use a paint for new plaster ok now behind these radiators as i've seen recommended? Or Trade matt emulsion? I'm going to be visiting B&Q later so any recommendations would be great.

Also i'm going to plaster one small area myself  , a kitchen wall 40cm x 2m, where i am having a vertical radiator installed, i've removed 50yr old tiles but the wall is not good, so can i do a reasonable job, just putting on a one coat plaster? Then again can i paint it the following day?

I'd so appreciate any advice

Sarah

I'm no expert, but I think it might be a good idea to use browning first and then a finishing plaster for the kitchen wall

yes emulsion will do nicely but the first coat of paint must be waterered down 60/40 approx as for kitchen a bit of a bummer one coat plaster will do .. damp any deep holes finish off with a fine filler done this many of time pain in the butt only paint when dry
