Poor Plastering

Hello,

We've just had our rear extension plastered. However, the plasterer did a shocking job and most of the walls and ceiling are all uneven and there are small thin rough holes in some of the walls and some rough bits.

I've tried sanding down and skimming over with plastering skimmer from polyfill, but you can still notice most of the plasterers mistakes.

He was a good price as it was his first project since doing his 6 week course in plastering. However, he has totally ruined the extension.

Any advice would be great!

Cheers

Rich

Hi richjarvis2001,
SIX WEEKS!
They have to start somewhere and they'll be a few rough jobs along the way. Ask him back, explain your problem and give him the chance to re-skim it and make a better job, other than that get in a seasoned pro.

Give him a chance to make good, if he will not, ask for a refund and to come back in a couple of months when he has gained some more experience. What did you pay?

if these walls are to be painted you might as well start again because if he carn"t do it from new then he will struggle to make it good one of the hardest to to do
