What are your opinions on Trowels. Stainless or Carbon steel?

Reason I ask is that at the moment being fairly new to plastering (6 months) I have been using marshaltown stainless 11" trowels, I am moving onto a 14" trowel and wondered what preferences are regarding material. An old plasterer(64) mate of mine said not to go for stainless as they are too stiff but to use carbon steel maybe this was just his age showing through  ...

Advice needed

Cheers

sorry nimbus11 interested what you bought. There is a slight difference beetween the 2. Stainless takes a lot longer to break in because its thicker but it will last longer and doesnt rust. Make sure you clean your trowel after every use in clean water.
