Hi all

Just wondered if any1 cud give me any advice on creating a plaster board frame in a archway between 2 rooms. The archway is 2.4 m high and 3 m wide were just cautious over the top wood as the arch doesnt reach the top of the ceiling its kinda cut through the wall in a through the key hole way!

Any help or pointing in the roght direction is greatly appreciated!

Thanx

hi davebriscoe,
love to help but don't get what your doing.
Plasterboard frame?
Are you wanting to make an archway that then needs boarding and then plastering?

Apologies not very clear!

At the moment there is a large archway between 2 adjoining rooms (they used to be seperate but the previous owner made a large archway between the 2) we want to 'block' the arch up creating 2 rooms again! we thought the best way was to plaster board it? but make a frame then board it after would that be right?

davebriscoe,
yes that would be okay, make sure when you build your stud (timber frame) that you take into account the depth of the plasterboards on both sides of stud and the application you intend to use to finish wall, ie skim or joint tape. so wall will be level when finished.
