Hi,

From my research on the web, the convential way of fixing plasterboards to walls is either the baton method or dot and dab. Is it acceptable to fix plasterboards using selftapping masonry screws?

Thanks

Hi, NO!
Due to the fact that most walls are uneven and not level, fixing in such away would lead to joints on boards not matching and lining up correctly.
The screw would also not hold very well as the surface behind the plasterboard would not gaurantee a firm support, which would also lead the screw penetrating straight through the board and not holding it in place.
So not advisable. regards

no, but can use new sealant fixitives which are faster and ensure no cold voids
