Independent mains water supply straight to shower.

I have an electric shower. Whenever I'm in it and someone turns a tap on, the pressure goes down and the water goes cold. I've heard that an independent water supply can be fitted straight from the main water supply to the shower. Is this possible and how do I go about it? My DIY skills are excellent, so I'm not afraid to tackle anything myself, given the right information. I thank you in advance for any help.

Depends on the incoming pressure of the mains really. The lower it is, the more likely the problem.

What I would do is run a pipe from just after the stop cock straight to the shower (via an isolator for ease of shut off).

That's always a problem with electric showers.

What you're suggesting sounds like alot of work for the sake of asking people not to use taps when someone in the shower (that's all I used to do when I had an electric shower)

Where would you take the pipe back to ? just after the mains stop tap - it may work, but if the water supply pressure and flow rate to the house is poor it'll still happen.
