WC inlet valve problem

Hi all,
I have replaced an inlet valve(old one had stopped flowing) on a wc which seemed fine for a while but now the supply has become a trickle.I have checked for airlocks and replaced a gatevalve on the supply from the main tank but nothing doing.
I am wondering now if I should just connect straight to the rising main. Any ideas or possible problems with the rising main option?
Thanks in advance

Hi Optimist

Check the filter in the inlet valve, it will be blocked.

there would have been some instructions with the valve?

if it is being fed from the loft CW tank you must have the correct aperture insert inside the actual inlet valve mechanism.

if you have a mains pressure one the aperture is a lot smaller and wont let in sufficient water from CW tank pressure. Normally the valves come with both apertures and you have to insert the correct one for your system. If you had a spare bit of plastic that you threw away - that was it!

Thanks for your replies, now sorted (hopefully!) Must have been blockage/air lock. I replaced supply pipe in speedfit, so no elbows etc.
