There'll be a non-return valve in the macerator is this in the right way is there on fitted
?
does any waste water reach the top of the waste pipe ?
Does the installation instructions not advise fitting non-return valves to the bath and basin waste ? i would be adding them
If it's been fitted according to instructions, I would get the manufacturers out.

I would fit one, it's not going to affect the operation of the macerator all it will do it is if there's ever a problem with the saniflow it'll stop waste from the toilet backing up to the bath or basin, I would imagine the saniflow will have them built in - check the instructions again.
Is the pump going or just making a noise ? you could disconnect the pipe from the saniflow and run clean water through it - see if it's pumping.
