Toilet Siphon removal

Hi,

I am trying to remove the siphon system in my toilet so I can replace the diaphragm to make it flush properly again.

I have got through the disconnecting the flush system, emptying the tank etc, but have got stuck.

The toilet has a "Shires Twinflow Syphon" but the cistern sits directly on top of the pan unit, and I can't seem to undo the siphon unit from the inside of the cistern.
There is no space between the pan unit and the cistern for me to get in and undo any retaining nuts.

Am I going to have to take the cistern off the pan to be able to change the unit ( seems a bit much to me) or is there another way???

Any help would be great.

Thanks
Toby

cistern off the pan mate if it a close coupled unit as described.

the cistern is held to the pan by wing nuts at the back normally. the syphon goes through the bottom of the cistern, where it is held in underneath the cistern by a back nut - this has to be undone and the only way is to separate the pan and cistern.

Thanks
