Hello
I would be grateful if some one could give me advice on whether this quote is reasonable.
I have a very small bathroom measuring 155cmx135cm
I have got a quote for a shower and basin installation with tiling and flooring and this is without major materials. The quote is 1200 GBP for the whole job.

any advise is appreciated.

I would say that is too much although it is difficult to tell site unseen. If it were to include materials then that might be a different matter.

What constitutes " major materials"?

Can you provide any more data?

Cheers

Too much - never take first quote - shop around and you'll get it done for half that (if that's just labour and pipes, not shower, basin etc)

Thank you for your replies.

Work would involve installation of a shower, hand wash basin, tiles on walls and floor.
I will have to buy the materials ie (shower, basin and tiles).

This is so difficult to estimate at a distance because we cannot know exactly what work you would be paying for.

I ran a basic installation based on what you have said, and arrived at a figure of £750 with loads of guesses. This only allows for a basic installation as mentioned and does not include tile adhesives, trims, grout, plywood or anything other than basic plumbing materials.

No allowance has been made for fitting radiators, showers, bathroom fittings, ceilings or electrical work.

The price is based on showroom supplied installation without VAT.

Independent fitter prices should be marginally cheaper.

As Htg says, get another quote. Maybe it's over priced. Maybe there's more work to do than you think.
