having replaced a ball cock in header tank on my old gravity fed system with imersion tank my hot water flow is slower and sometimes stops, seems to be a delay in the header to imersion tank, all i did was isolate and drain header and imersion as i also replaced a hot water tap, then turned water suply back on, header filled back up and everything seemed ok, but hot flow is slow and perodicaly stops and then returns, have i an air lock??, if so what can i do?, would appreciate any help, not a plumber as you have guessed!!!, cheers

Try opening one of your hot taps and leave it open for about 5 minutes. If the problem is an airlock in the cylinder this may allow the head of water in your header tank to push it through.
