Water Softener/Descaler

I've recently moved house and brought with us an 'Easyflow' compact electronic water softener (similar to the Eddy as shown on here) but have lost any instructions that came with it and can't remember whether the wires you coil around the incoming water main have to go in any particular direction, if anyone knows?
