shower waste/concrete floor

we are siting a new shower enclosure on a concrete floor,do we need to build a plinth which raises shower tray quite high or is there a solution to keep things as low as possible.is there compact waste/traps available or do we dig a channel.also can we connect sink to the shower waste pipe.brainy plumbers please help!

You can sink the trap into the floor - this is done for level access/disabled access showers. You can also buy shallow shower traps.

Also it would be best to get a waste grate that is accessible from the top - for cleaning. As once your shower tray and trap are fitted - you wont be able to get it back out to clean - and it will become blocked with hair and soap over time.
