Flow lower with mixer tap installed?

by tobiwan » Mon Jul 28, 2008 6:58 pm

Hi,

Have just changed two normal bath taps for a shower mixer tap.

The flow seemed quite fast before, and still is on the bathroom sink taps but is a lot slower from the mixer and is not enough for the shower to work.

Is it just that there isn't enough pressure to run a shower mixer or have I done something wrong?

Cheers

Type of hot water system ?

If you haven't restricted the flow - by leaving isolation valves slightly closed, using flexi hoses etc etc then it's probably not enough pressure to run a shower.

are you using flexi connectors with a smaller bore than previous? is there a kink in the flexis? how is your water pressure generally?

how much head do you have to run the shower? did you have a shower previously?

more info reqd
