need to pick peoples brains
friend off mine as problem with a hamworthy boiler
when it kicks in on the central heating side it draws about 3 inches of warter from the f and e tank, off course the float valve kicks in to replace water when the boiler switches off the water it sucked out now comes back into the f and e tank thru the outlet pipe off the f and e tank
because the water level was replenised by the float valve this extra water comes flowing over the sides off the f and e tank
any thoughts anyone

First off, the F & E tank should have an overflow on it to prevent water from flowing over the sides of the tank. As for the boiler taking water from the tank on start-up then giving it back at shutdown, I haven't the faintest clue, not being a plumber.
