Hi,

We have a porcelain toilet, supplied directly from the mains. In summer it works well, but in winter, the water filling the tank is really cold, and condensation forms on the outside of the tank. It then drips on the floor and causes a bit of a mess.

Any suggestions on how to prevent this?

Because the air temperature is so much higher than the water temperature there will always be moisture in the air that will condense on the toilet tank as long as it is a bathroom.
The solution, to put the toilet in its own room, where it will not experience the same levels of water vapour.
Or fit vinyl floor covering with the edges turned up the wall to make a pond, then the condensation running off the tank may be easily mopped up.

or the proper solution would be to line the inside of the cistern wit insulation!!
