toilet doesnt fill then over flows

hello i have a sanitop with a split push button cystern. when i try to flush the cystern is empty i have to slide the plastic loat down but then it over flows i have to keep moving it up and down until it stops i am concerned it will break as it is only plastic please help thanks all xxx

Think the easest answer to that is replace it , they only cost pennys and saves a lot of bother to from the wife

thnks for your reply any idea if it is different from normal toilet floats and is it difficult to get as it its a sanitop toilet? thanks x

Hi,

Yes the float in those type of cisterns is different to the standard type.

Are you sure that the float is the problem as the float operates a valve?

It sounds more like the valve is faulty.

I'd suggest either getting a plumber to have a look or contact saniflow for a repair kit.

A lot of the big manufactures have web sites with fitting diagrams and a spare parts list so you may be able to order direct or they will have a list of suppliers.
