I am having problems with my hot water, it is not very hot when i run the bath and very cold when i run the shower (hansgrohe), if i run the hot tap on the hand basin in the bathroom it is hot and in the kitchen. It seems as if, the more demand required for hot water the colder it gets, i have been told it could be the diaphram in the diverter valve or the hot water thermister both of which i have had changed with no joy, i have recently noticed that the heating goes cold when the hot water is turned on, and the water is slightly warmer when the heating is off, could this problem be the vessel any help would be very gratefully received.
regards............mark

one of your mixer taps is passing, you can check this by running the hot tap and checking that the hot water outlet pipe is getting hot, if so you need a plumber to find out which mixer tap or shower is passing and either change it or fit a none return valve to the hot water pipe to the tap that is passing. hope this helps

it means that the tap normally keeps the hot water and cold water until they mix, when its passing they are not being kept seperate, and because the pressure of the cold water is at mains pressure it forces itself down the hot water side, so water coming out of the hot taps are mostly mains cold water. hope this has been a help for you.

Sorry to jump in, but it means the valve allows a substance past even when you think its closed.

Hi

I think i am experiencing something similar. We have a Worcester 24CXi boiler in our flat. When the water is run from the hot tap in the kitchen its boiling hot, same goes for in the bathroom. But when we use the shower it runs lukewarm. Would you say that this is passing too? We have British Gas homecare guys coming out to look at the boiler as it makes some strange noises all the time. Any suggestions of what i should be saying to them??

Perhaps we should try for a new boiler as ours is about 10 years old, and has had most parts replaced by them recently. Any suggestions on that too?!

Hi,

BG then I hope you got loads a money.
They have changed alot of parts = nearly new boiler.
Demand they fix it properly, diff engineer perhaps.
As for the shower can you restrict the flow of the cold to it a little?
