Hello There,
I have a Santon Premier plus 210E direct boiler that just supplies hot water to a small flat. Heating is electric...

Gradually the supply of hot water has become less in recent weeks to the point wher if i turn the shower on i get an initial spurt at pressure but quickly fades to a dribble, also the water appears a bit milky?

I know these systems work under pressure but don't really understand whats happening.

Can anyone explain or send me a link or theory guide of operation and also what may be the problem.

The boiler is 5 years old and in a very hard water area, could that cause an issue?

Many thanks
Newps

Hi Newps,

Yes limescale build up in the heat exchanger could cause this.
I'm not familiar with this boiler, has it got a pressure guage, if so it should be at about 1 - 1.5 bar.

Get a recommended RGI in.

Also put some of the milky water in a glass- if it clears in a few mins its air. If not poss HEX mat=y have split.

Hi There Steve the gas, what do you mean by "HEX mat=y have split.?

No pressure gauge.

Heat exchanger = HEX, but thats an RGI job I'm afraid.
