noisy Thermastatic valve .

by Tiger1961 » Wed Jan 07, 2009 7:35 pm

Occasionally we get a loud noise coming from the thermistatic valve on the 1 st radiator frrom the boiler ( HE combi ) . This noise occurs when the valve is fully off or on * , but stops as soon as the valve is opened and is turned to 1 upwards or even when a valve is opened in another room . The boiler is in the same room as the problem valve and we do not have a room thermistat in the house as we use the valve thermistats to regulate the heat . Any feeback would be most helpful . Thanks.

its a common fault with some valves even reverse flow ones what you need to do is to remove the top of the lockshield valve at the other end and turn it down until its almost closed then keep opening it a bit at a time until the noise stops
m y information came from the valve manufactureres as i used to have the problem but now i know how to cure it
