Hi all.

Advice greatly appreciated here. I've recently had a new radiator installed in the living room with a Drayton TRV4 valve attached. I'm instantly regretting this decision. The thermostat is doing what a thermostat does and regulating down the flow into the rad when it detects a certain temperature but this is long before the room is even close to warm.

This, I imagine, has to be because the stat is tricking itself into thinking the room is up to temperature, either by the heat of the radiator, the pipe or even the body of the valve itself.
I went for this valve because it appeared it would do the job and was a well respected brand (it looks smart as well). We've just finished the room and had carpets laid and I really don't fancy replacing the valve with the cost and hassle that will involve.

What is the liklihood of me being able to adjust or even bypass the thermostat in this valve? Right now I would settle happily for the rad being fully on or fully off.

Take the head off the TRV by unscrewing the silver(normally) ring under the head = full on.
