bath waste nut size?

can anyone help with this please bath waste is leaking & i want to replace it with a new one only problem is can not see the nut access is very cramped i have tried mole grips & stiltsons (just cant get a grip) most local suppliers not being over enthuesiastic to help.

have you tried to remove the plughole from inside the bath? sorry if i'm being dumb here but sometimes these are screwed into the fitting from above

thanks for that i was thinking about possibly two screwdrivers from the top
if it starts to move its game set & match. the replacement unit is screw tight from the top type which simplifies things.

You don't say how old the bath is, but if the waste has big nut on the underside my guess is it is pretty old. If you can hold the nut with stilsons, it may be possible to turn the waste as you suggest with scredrivers and using a bar as leverage.
Sometimes you have to cut the nut off with a hacksaw or as I do, with an angle grinder. Not funny!
