i have a ideal isar combi boiler that was installed just over 3 years ago that is starting to play up. when i switch the hot water on, on any of the taps in my house, i get cold water! i have to swith the tap back off and leave it a few secounds, then switch it back on to give me hot water.

Its cos its an Ideal.

Basically, with what you are doing - its reacting to HW demand slower than you would like. The slower the flow the hotter it gets also.

The boiler wont be sensing the flow of water, maybe a sensor or a diaphragm isn't working as it should - haven't had much to do with the Ideal Eyesore.

i understand what you mean about the 'ideal' boiler!! i never had it fitted out of choice, it was installed as part of the warmfront grant scheme.

anyway, it defo not what steve said as i understand what he means. in winter because the water is colder, i have to close have the tap half open to get the same tempature water as in the summer with the tap fully open.

htg engineer advice seeems to one to look at!!

is there a flow sensor on these boilers, how to i teell if its on its way out!

thanx for yer help with this guys, really appreciate it
