Replacing Ballcock Washers

The overflow on my toilet has been driping so I took off the ballcock arm .
Neither of the two washers appeared worn so I just cleaned them thinking some grit might have got on them.

I have still have a slight drip and it appears to be coming from screw side of the ball cock rather than where the arm washer is.

If neither washer is worn what could be causing the drip?

£5 or therabouts for a complete new ballvalve. Not worth the hassle of tracking it down. Replace the whole thing and you'll have saved that fiver in time several times over.

Cheers

Thanks for your advice. For a fiver it's well worth it and if it happens again I will certainly buy a new one.

In the meantime I seemed to have stopped the drip. Originally I think the plastic nut had loosened and it was still dripping even when I refitted it. An extra turn seems to have cured it!
