Shower - Dripping Problem

Hi,

I hope someone may have some advice.

We have a shower upstairs and recently it has started dripping heavily at random times after showering. This is usually 3 or 4 hours afterwards. It will drip quite heavily for around 3 to 5 mintues and then stop. This is really annoying if we shower before going to bed as it wakes us up.

The shower is only about 5 years old and is the fixed Victorian style. If we unscrew and remove the shower head after a shower we don't get the problem.
Could this be a gradual pressure build up that pushes water trapped in the pipe out after a while?

We have descaled the shower head many times recently.

Any ideas would be wonderful.

Thanks,

Jay.

PS: We have a combi boiler.

probably just the water left in the shower head, try tilting the shower head down when u get out of the shower, from the shower head to the shower unit (shower hose) will always be full of water unless emptied.

This is a common problem when the valve needs cleaning, especially when the valve has a ceramic disk which allows a small amount of water to pass when turned off if there is some dirt in the valve. You need to clean the cartridge (see manufactuter's guide) and clean the head as well.

If it continues contact the manufacturer and ask about a new cartridge. A lot of valves are guaranteed for 10 years.
