I am planning on moving a radiator (central heating from combi) in my bedroom from the wall to the window to make more room for a cot. Below the window is wooden tounge and groove so I would need to mount directly onto this.

is it ok to mount wall radiators onto wood?
its old wood so no idea what type e.t.c incase anyone thinks this makes a difference.
Also planning to paint it so can use fire retardant paint if that is necessary?

Mounting onto wood will be fine, for peace of mind and to maximise the heat emitted to the room, you could fit a reflector panel http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/10-Heat-Reflector ... 27008r9885 or similar.

If you think of older style gas fires, they have wooden cases and very rarely burn - more direct heat will be given off a gas fire than a radiator
