Set-up: downsatirs modern loo; mains fed; concealed pipework behind tiled wall.
A neighbour recently had a guy in to change the washer on the inlet valve although it may have been the diaphragm (not sure which as neighbour a bit vague) and now the noise made in the pipeworrk going from the cistern to that below the floor is very loud, like an that of an elephant is the best I can give.
Everything works as well as would be expected except for the noise.
No loose fittings within the cistern so I suppose it isn't water hammer.
Suggestions please.
