With the installation of pipe work ( i.e kitchen or bathroom) if the hole is slightly bigger? what can be done to make good and stop any vermin entry.

What about pipe cover?

Pipes can be sealed with expanding polyurethane foam. A decorative collar can be fitted around pipes or the pipes can be morterd up.
Depends what material they pass through.
