Hi, need to replace my mums oil boiler;currently a gravity HW pumped CH it has been suggested that a combi situated in her garage would be best. I am cocerned about distance to Bathroom some 18meters.
My question is will this be a problem given "folklore" that bath filling with combie is slow anyway? If it OK what size pipe should be run to bathroom; cyrrently 15mm from existing cylinder? Thanks

The myth of slow filling bath's should be left where it came from - in the past. Modern efficient boilers are well able to fill a bath almost as fast as the incoming cold main can supply. That is if you choose a sensibly sized quality boiler!

Long pipe runs should be avoided where possible. It reduces the efficiency and wasted water.

Sighting a boiler in a garage should be avoided if possible because in weather like today's, it has to cycle to protect itself from freezing.
